GroomTeam USA, Inc.
is pleased to announce the 2008 recipients of the Lonnie Lange Memorial
Scholarship Fund. There are two levels of awards; the first level
for college education, with three awards of $1,000.00 each, and the
second level for grooming education. GroomTeam USA, Inc. employs
the aid of Scholarship Program Administrators, Inc. of Nashville,
TN (www.scholarshipadministrators.net), a professional scholarship selection
company. The use of this outside source insures that the selection of
the recipients is professional, fair and unbiased.
Level 1 will provide three recipients
with $1000 in college money. These funds may be used toward college
education in any field and will be paid directly to the school. The
only stipulation is that the applicant must be the child, stepchild
or grandchild of a bona fide, professional groomer. No other students
may apply. This is strictly for the families of groomers!
The recipients of this years scholastic
awards are:
- Allison Dale from Elk Grove Village,
Illinois. Her groomer parents are Jeffrey and Vicky, owners of Crusin'
Clippers Mobile Dog Grooming in Elk Grove Village, IL.
- Taylor Nischan from Bolingbrook,
Illinois. Her groomer mother is Georgeann Nischen of the Dirty Dog in Bolingbrook, IL.
- Katelyn Thornton from North Richland
Hills, TX. Her groomer mother is Susan Thornton of Muttley Makeovers
in North Richland Hills, TX.
Both Dale and Taylor are repeat winners
of the GroomTeam USA, Inc. Scholastic award and Katelyn's older
sister, Kelly, is a past recipient. We congratulate our winners and
wish them luck in their future education.
Level 2 is open to any and all applicants,
and provides one recipient with a full scholarship to their choice of
one of a selected group of nationally acclaimed grooming schools approved
by GroomTeam USA, Inc. GroomTeam USA, Inc. will also provide
$1000 toward the purchase of the standard grooming tool kit available
through the selected school.
This years grooming school award goes
to Jessica Lynch of Webster, TX. Jessica has been working in the grooming
industry as a bather-brusher / apprentice groomer and is anxious to
attend the Paragon School of Pet Grooming. She plans include becoming
a Certified Master Groomer, grooming competitor and future GroomTeam
US member. Congratulations, Jessica! Welcome to the industry!
The Lonnie Lange Memorial Scholarship
Fund is intended to help the families of hard working pet stylists.
